Can anyone recommend a good tv show or video that teaches about sharing, manners, or anything like that? My daughter is 2 years old and these are things we are working on right now. We have books to that effect but I want to give her some variety. The tv shows she watches now are mostly about problem solving (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, Little Einsteins, My Friends Tigger and Pooh) but I would like her to learn more values and learning right from wrong (things that will help me mold her as a person).
My husband and I are really in disagreement about this and I am curious to see what others have to say.
It is the Nature channel, I think Discovery...
It is lions eating others animals.
When my daughter saw it she made a growling sound and laughed, I thought it may disturb her. She didn't panic or cry.
However, I asked my husband to chande the channel and he was upset saying there was nothing wrong with nature.
I am not saying it is right or wrong, I personally don't like it. He says I am hyper sensitive and our kids, who are 1 and 2 aren't.
I am wondering what others think about this.
I am nor trying to bash him, I simply feel the way I do but would love to hear what others think ;)
Thank you!
Last weekend my daughter was sick, so I headed over to the local video store to find a movie or two that we could watch together. I wanted something we haven't seen several times. I just couldn't seem to find anything. I got "Come Away Home", it was a very good movie.
Can anyone recommend any movies they like to watch with their kids? Are there any movies or tv shows on dvd that you remember watching as a kid that you'd like to share with your daughters? Note: we already own or have seen all the Disney movies and we've been watching "Little House on the Prarie". I'm planning on joining Netflix or Blockbuster this fall.
About a month ago I got out some baby Einstein DVD's and my son fell in love with them. He gets so excited to watch them. The best part is that I can turn that on and get house work done (uninterupted) for 30 minutes while he watches. I think they are educational so I don't feel so bad about him watching them. It is small part of the day and we do spend a lot of time outside or doing other activites.
So here are my questions: I'm curious on what other moms think about older infants/toddlers watching TV. How much TV is too much? Are other moms doing this? And are there other tv shows that might benefit him at this age? Thanks for your opinions and advice!!!
Hi all. My 5 year old son has been asking me constantly to watch tv/movies, but I'm worried about letting him watch too much or him seeing shows that have bad language/content. I have cable, so pretty much all the kid channels. Any of you moms have shows that your kids enjoy that are at least somewhat educational or don't use bad themes/language? Any suggestions about how much TV to allow per day? Thanks!
