Electronic cigarettes are just about everywhere. There are thousands of posts about them. The information about them tends to be contradictory. Hence, it is difficult to make out whether they are the right option or not. If you are interested in finding out if vaping is safe, this post is just for you.
What Are Electronic Cigarettes?
Also called vaporisers, electronic cigarettes are a device that is powered by a battery. They mimic smoking and offer some nicotine. However, they do not have the same toxic effect as tobacco cigarettes. They were first introduced over a decade ago and have been growing in popularity ever since. A study was conducted back in 2016 on the effects of vaping and it was found that the vapour releases harmful emissions such as possible irritants and carcinogens, though at a lower level as compared to traditional cigarettes.
How Does the BHF View Vaping?
The British Heart Foundation (BHF) does not advise non-smokers to vape juices like Cosmic Fog Milk and Honey. But, there is a need for increased research on the long-term effects of vaping on the blood vessels and heart. It is important to find out how you can effectively vape to quit smoking.
The University of Dundee had conducted a study in 2019. It reveals that vaping might just be less harmful to our blood vessels. It was observed that blood vessel health including the stiffness of arteries and blood pressure levels improved within a month of switching to electronic cigarettes. The study involved 114 pupils who smoked a minimum of 15 cigarettes every day for a minimum of two years. Although the study consisted of relatively few people, it shows that vaping is a better option but it does prove if it is safe.
The study only suggests that it is less harmful to vape than to smoke traditional cigarettes. Since electronic cigarettes contain harmful chemicals, though, at a relatively low level, there are still chances of contracting diseases associated with smoking. The long-term effects of vaping on the heart are still unknown. It is important that non-smokers do not take up the habit of vaping. It should only be an option for people that want to quit smoking completely. The best thing that one could possibly do for their health is getting rid of their habit to smoke. There is no need to go at it alone as there are many resources out there that can help boost your chances of finally quitting.
Stopping Smoking
Thousands of people die every year due to smoking-related diseases. The diseases responsible for most of these deaths are coronary heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and lung cancer. A survey was conducted by You Gov in 2019 and it revealed that over 3.6 million British adults vape. That is as much as 7 percent of the popular. Half of the users are ex-smoker which suggests that people opt for vaping to stop smoking. It is easy to quit smoking with the help of an electronic cigarette.
Should You Vape?
If you are not a smoker, you should never try to vape. However, if you are trying to stop smoking, vaping might be a better option.
